Performance Focused PT, What’s different?

Performance Focused PT, What’s different?

What is performance PT?

Physical therapists are the experts on movement. This is a given when dealing with significant injuries and post-surgical conditions. You know you go to PT to restore function. This movement expertise translates beyond simply the return to function. Performance PT is the way to utilize this knowledge to assess and improve each area of the body to maximize athletic and functional potential. You can utilize performance PT to be better than you were before. That’s why a higher focus is placed on strength and conditioning.

When you combine the knowledge, technology, and tools available to the PT you can attain understanding of what the different layers of the body’s systems nervous, muscular, fascia, venous, etc. are doing relative to their potential. Knowledge and data can be converted into gains, so don’t expect to leave PT without breaking a sweat.

Physical therapy is an art and a science, by combining years of experience with advanced technologies, and time-tested holistic treatments your potential for injury avoidance and recovery can be maximized.

Thinking about it another way, when you were injured, you were at your baseline. If you just get back to where you were then you’re only priming yourself for a similar failure. Yes, restore your function but push past good enough. Be better, improve your strength, balance, coordination, and control. Raise you baseline to a higher level and make it harder for injury to find you.
